Consultation on noise-induced hearing loss in the Return to Work scheme

Since 2018, noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims and costs in the Return to Work scheme have significantly changed.

ReturnToWorkSA is consulting with stakeholders in a strategic review to identify and consider possible policy changes that aim to:

  • reduce the risk of work-related NIHL
  • improve NIHL services and support for injured workers, including addressing barriers to accessing services and making a claim
  • streamline the management of NIHL claims
  • lower the number of disputes related to NIHL claims
  • improving forecasting of scheme performance and liabilities.
