On 22 June 2023, the Government released a consultation draft of the Return to Work (Employment and Progressive Injuries) Amendment Bill.
The draft and an introductory letter will also be sent to key stakeholder groups.
This draft bill will be available for public consultation until Friday, 25 August 2023. The Government will carefully consider all feedback received from stakeholders before settling a final bill for introduction to Parliament.
How to provide feedback
Feedback on this draft bill can be provided via email to AttorneyGeneral@sa.gov.au by close of business on 25 August 2023.
Why is the Government drafting this bill?
Ensuring that workers are able to return to work after an injury is in the best interests of the entire South Australian community. A scheme which supports a return to the workforce results in better outcomes for injured workers and reduces scheme costs to create downward pressure on employer premiums.
